The term “net neutrality” has been in and out of the news quite a bit over the last year or so. It’s without a doubt a rather complicated issue. I won’t pretend to be deeply knowledgeable of the finer details of the topic. What I do know is that – in it’s simplest (maybe over simplified) terms – the freedom that the internet promises to deliver to the world is quickly being appropriated by the large telco’s. They seem to have the corporate belief that because they built the “pipe” that delivers your internet connection, that they get to set the rules associated with your use of the internet.The video that follows is about 10 minutes long and explains the issue better than I can. Please take a look. Understand the issue as best as you can and consider it when you vote for the political leaders that stand to shape this policy in the months and years to come.
