For 2011 we have Ann’s mom and dad here along with the usual suspects. This tradition gets more special every year. How lucky we are to have such great family and friends nearby to celebrate the day.

If it’s fall, it must be HomecomingPosted by annblackman in Ann's Posts, Photos, tags: Centennial, Homecoming, samWith 5 high schools now in Frisco and each school with their own weekend of festivities, homecoming came early for Centennial High School this year. Even with record-breaking rain, the weekend appeared to turn out to be well worth the trip home for Sam. It was pretty much the same ‘ol gang as last year. That means a great bunch of kids … and then some fun parents to hang around with after the teens take off to the dance! Click on the photo of Sam and Sarah on the right to see more photos. A Word About Mums: Thank goodness for Texas-born friends! Jennifer took both Sam and I by the hand last year to make sure that Sam’s design plans for a mum were successful. This year, it was Amy and myself wielding the hot glue gun and mini stapler while Scott sent photos of the mum-in-progress to Sam in his dorm room for creative direction. Confused about the mum tradition? Here some info … http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homecoming#Mums

Send off from Billy Bob’sPosted by scottblackman in Blogging, Photos, tags: alex, Billy Bob's, sam
Hope everyone had a nice Independence Day. Another scorcher in the heart of Texas. 101 I think. Tomorrow’s the day. Sam graduates. After a lot of planning, hard work and dedication, Sam has finally achieved his goal of graduating a year ahead of schedule. He commented on Wednesday evening, after we watched this slideshow, that it “hit him” that afternoon – he really had finished high school. It hit us, too. We couldn’t be more proud of you Sam! Next stop: The University of Texas at San Antonio, School of Architecture. The song is “Over the Rainbow” as sung by Israel Kamakawio’ole from the Album Alone in IZ World The school year is winding down. The last Centennial Sweetheart performance of the year was the Spring Show. One of the traditional performance for the seniors is a dance routine with their “honor guard.” After a number of weeks of practice, Sam was ready to go. It was hilarious and fun to watch. More photos from the show are in our MobileMe Gallery. |
